The Pat Cronin Foundation honours Pat by providing an optimistic voice to awareness, education and research about the Coward Punch. Helping people feel empowered to make change through wise decisions.
Our Vision is of a society free from Coward Punches.
Our Be Wise Awareness presentation is designed for sporting clubs and community groups. Our presentation gives the audience an understanding of Pat’s story and encourages discussion around anger, aggression and strategies to deal with these issues. Audiences will feel empowered to make a difference and help us with our vision to ‘End the Coward Punch’.
Our program informs students about Pat and his story, teaching students to reflect on attitudes and behaviours around anger and aggression. Students will feel empowered to develop their own action plan to ‘Be Wise’ and to never use violence.
Our Be Wise Research Program will work to understand the prevalence of assault fatalities, working towards lowering numbers of assaults and Coward Punch attacks, in particular. The research program covers the full impacts including psychological, social and financial for victims, families and the community. We aim to develop an understanding of why these cowardly attacks happen and use this to inform our prevention strategies.
