Televised: Pat’s Match returns for 2024

Hot on the heels of the Pat Cronin Foundation Round, the countdown is on to the second annual Pat’s Match at Sandringham Football Club on Sunday, May 19, 2024.

Supported by Vic Rajah Family Lawyers, this year Channel Seven will televise the Round 8 VFL game between the Zebras and the Richmond Tigers – raising valuable awareness around the Foundation’s Australia-wide Be Wise Education Program.

“It’s a fantastic initiative providing another great opportunity to highlight our messages,” said Foundation Partnerships Manager Steve Layt.

“Similar to the Pat Cronin Foundation Round, all players will be taking a stand against the Coward Punch by wearing specially designed yellow armbands.

“We’ll also be fundraising throughout the day through raffles, auctions and merchandise sales – with money directly assisting our Be Wise presentations.

“I’d really encourage everyone to get along and support the day.”

Vic Rajah Lawyers Principal Vic Rajah said he was delighted to partner again with the Foundation in 2024.

“The work undertaken in educating the youth of today in understanding the consequences of violence and making wise decisions cannot be underestimated,” he said.

“As a father of three children myself and having had the opportunity to meet with Matt Cronin, Pat’s dad, I can see the positive work being performed by the Foundation, the passion that drives the cause and the everlasting impact it will have on teenagers and young adults.”

The Channel 7 coverage begins at noon. Prior to the match, Steve will provide an update of the Foundation’s progress this year to guests at a President’s Lunch from 10.30am.

Foundation ambassador Craig “Huggy” Huggins will compere the lunch as well as auction two amazing prizes – a football signed by the Richmond players and a jumper signed by the St Kilda AFL side.

The VFL game will be followed by VFLW Southern Saints v Port Melbourne at 3pm.
