STOP. THINK. CHOOSE

Helping students make safer choices and take helpful bystander action

Violence prevention cannot rely on one presentation or one conversation.

Students need simple, repeated reminders that conflict can be interrupted, their choices matter and walking away takes strength.

Teachers also need practical ways to reinforce these messages when tensions rise, online conflict spills into school or a class needs a calm reset.

STOP. THINK. CHOOSE. is a free, no-preparation classroom activity for secondary school students. It guides students through a challenging situation and helps them:

  • identify what is happening
  • recognise early warning signs
  • consider safer ways to respond
  • understand what helpful bystander action can look like

Taking just 8-10 minutes, the activity can be used during Health, Homeroom, Pastoral Care or wellbeing sessions. It can also help reinforce safer choices after a difficult moment or whenever students need a practical reminder that conflict does not have to escalate.
