Be Wise Walk to the Valley pivots to Walk to Anywhere 2020Published
An innovative approach to the Pat Cronin Foundation’s Be Wise Walk to the Valley in 2020 has become the Be Wise Walk to Anywhere 2020.
The COVID-19 pandemic means we’ve had to re-think our traditional Pat Cronin Foundation Be Wise Walk to the Valley. So in 2020, we’re making it more accessible, and safer for everyone. It’s going to be the Pat Cronin Foundation Be Wise Walk to Anywhere Week. Commencing on Monday the 9th and running through until Sunday the 15th of November 2020.
The Be Wise Walk to Anywhere Week will see registered participants choose the day (or days) of the week to complete an 8km walk wherever they are in the world. We will create a community event where people can share their walks and where we will continue the success of previous years when many hundreds of supporters have joined us for the 8km Be Wise Walk to the Valley.
This year’s event will give everyone something very positive to focus on in a year that has been very challenging and we look forward to this new format allowing even more supporters joining us from anywhere in Australia (and around the world) to spread our Be Wise End the Coward Punch message and remember Pat.
We are also thrilled to announce that the major partner for this event will once again be the Barry Plant Group.
Barry Plant Group CEO Mike McCarthy said:
‘The Barry Plant Group in conjunction with local Barry Plant offices in Eltham, Greensborough, Bundoora, Doncaster, Mill Park, Diamond Creek and Blackburn have been proud sponsors of the Pat Cronin Foundation – Walk to the Valley for three years which, apart from being a major fundraising event, also raises awareness about their key mission to end the “coward punch.” It’s such an important message and the Foundation’s work to provide awareness and education about the coward punch throughout schools and sporting groups is vital. This year we will all work to promote the walk in its new format of “Walk to Anywhere” and we look forward to having everyone within the Barry Plant organisation, walking in their local neighbourhoods to help this amazing Foundation.’
The Pat Cronin Foundation encourages our supporters to follow Government health guidelines at all times.
Registration and more details to follow in the coming weeks.
